CERTIFIED CUSTOMER SERVICE PROFESSIONAL (CCSP®)

Is it Worth Your Time?
Your time is precious as are your personal or professional discretionary dollars. Taking the time to even consider obtaining (another) certification can be mind-boggling. Let us help you wade through some of the questions that arise as you debate the worth of gaining a certification as a Certified Customer Service Professional.

The primary reason for obtaining the designation as a CCSP® is because you, as a customer service provider, represent a bona fide profession just as those individuals do who receive certifications in fields such as nursing or in the insurance industry. It is time that the single largest group of service providers—those in direct customer service across all fields—are recognized as the professionals they are.

Customer service professionals possess varying levels of education typically commensurate to the needs of their current role; based on time and money available to pursue higher education plus one’s preference regarding personal career goals.  While formal education is often desirable, it is not necessarily the primary determinant regarding your worthiness and ability to expand to a highly acknowledged level of professionalism in the customer service arena.  In reality, the pursuit of the CCSP designation, represents your commitment to expanding your formal education and professional capabilities in the field of customer service.

Getting certified as a CCSP will reflect to your current organization as well as any future employer that you have the initiative to pursue such a standard of excellence, that you are willing to be measured by those standards in your daily behavior, that you are willing and able to serve as a mentor and role model for your colleagues on customer service excellence and that you consider yourself a true customer service professional providing excellence to both your internal and external customers. A CCSP may well help you get your next job with the appropriate recognition and associated benefits you desire.

Pursuing a CCSP designation also proves to you that you can and have pursued a higher level in formal education, that you are capable and that this may just be the beginning of expanding your education into the future.

You also show your colleagues, family and friends that each of us can continue to improve, which, in turn, can encourage them to do the same despite very busy and complicated lives.

And think how much more efficient you will be at work and at home as you interact with people with your newfound or newly-reminded customer service knowledge and skills.

Everyone wins when you become a CCSP!  Contact the NCSA to get started in investing in you!
